Who is she?
She commands the Guardia Vertical, the army and police of the Zenith, at El Pináculo, their station. She is 44. She was born in Year 3 E.A., so she belongs to the first generation that never saw Solmera or the Flota. She has flown with the Guardia for twenty-two years.
The canon calls her disciplined to the bone. But she has a crack of doubt. It shows when she signs aggressive quota orders for Kaldrek, the cold planet where the two factions clash.
Who does she answer to?
She answers to the Cátedra de Ascensión, the Zenith high command, and to Chancellor Vantis, who rules El Pináculo. Most of her faction’s missions go through the board and carry the seal of a numbered Axiom, a decree of the Cátedra. Some jobs reach her without going near it.
How do you recognise her?
- She says “understood” when she does not agree.
- She flies a two-seat XASTER, one of the ships of the house of William’s, and has never filled the second seat again.
- She eats breakfast at La Ecuánime, the canteen of the Anillo Cívico, and always finishes the grey paste that tastes of nothing.
- She speaks drily. She is fair and does not dress up what she says.
Where can she be found?
In the Anillo de la Guardia Vertical at El Pináculo, the part of the station set aside for the Guardia.
Where does she appear in the Crónica?
She arrives at the end of chapter 3, “Received”. Chapter 4, “Unnumbered Axiom”, is told through her eyes. She is one of the seven main characters of Book I of the Crónica de Aurin.
This entry gives nothing away: it only tells what is known about her when she is introduced.
