What is COLONIZED

A survival MMO with a weapon in your hands.

Everything in this section already runs in the engine.

  • Combat

    The server decides who hits.

Rifles, pistols, a shotgun and a sniper rifle in first or third person, switching at will, plus a rocket launcher and gatlings in third. Every shot is resolved on the server, with lag compensation. Grenades, alien fauna and armed humans that take cover and flank.

    • 13 weapons
    • 1st / 3rd person
    • Server-side hits
  • Survival

Worlds you walk from the ground to orbit.

Spherical planets with radial gravity, and zero gravity once you leave the atmosphere. Rain, snow, dust and fog depend on the world. Five needs keep you honest.

  • Crafting and building

Pull a support and it comes down.

Ninety recipes by hand, at the workbench, the fabricator and the furnace. Bases go up piece by piece with structural integrity, and your colony shares the beds you respawn in.

    • 90 recipes
    • 4 crafting sites
    • Structural integrity
  • Factions and guilds

Zenith or Nadir. You choose once.

Pick your house at enlistment and climb its ranks. Five neutral guilds keep count of everything else, and what you do for one weighs on the others.

  • Compis

A companion that learns from you.

Five cores from the old fleet, one per guild. You recover one through its guild’s missions, build its shell from a blueprint, and its talent tree specialises you: hold the line, deal damage, heal, craft or fly.

  • The Aurin system

Fifteen worlds generated from their lore.

Four planets, ten moons and a captured asteroid, raised from the lore by a procedural chain: terrain from real elevation data and physics, not noise, and weather of their own.

    • 15 worlds

What you do

You arrive with nothing. You stay for what you build.

The loop that already runs in the engine, in six steps.

  1. 01

    Enlist

Aboard the Arca Custodia you choose your house, the Zenith or the Nadir. It is for good.

  2. 02

    Survive

Drink, eat, keep warm and watch your stamina. Step out of the atmosphere and gravity lets go.

  3. 03

    Gather and craft

Break resource nodes, carry what you can and turn it into tools, weapons, ammunition and food.

  4. 04

    Build

Foundations, walls, ramps and stations that snap together. Your colony shares it, and respawns in its beds.

  5. 05

    Fight

Fauna, armed humans and anyone who wants what you have. The server keeps the score.

  6. 06

    Earn standing

Your house promotes you. Five neutral guilds rank you from Paria to Leyenda.

Then further out, with better gear and your colony behind you.

The world

Year 47 E.A. The cold peace is cracking.

In the Aurin system of the Parhelion galaxy, two factions born from the same colony fleet, the Zenith and the Nadir, keep a cold peace that is starting to crack.

In Year 1 the Arca Aurora took fire from both sides above Ithera and came down. No one has ever been able to say whose shot it was. The ones who crawled out of the wreck founded the five guilds inside the wound it left, La Cicatriz, and the two sides shut themselves in their stations to watch each other. Thirty-five years of cold peace later, both are recruiting again. You are one of the people arriving.

The Compis

They logged everything on the crossing. Now they learn from you.

On the crossing there were never enough people awake to keep the count, so the cores kept it: one per section of the arks, floating down the corridors, writing everything down. Then the war came and they were lost with it. A Vanguard patrol found one in a sealed compartment that had held pressure for forty-six years, dead centre, lens turned to the door. The recovery report says one word: holding.

In the game they are companion drones that specialise you: one awake at a time, each with its role, its signature ability and its talent tree. In a group they share the work: one holds the line, one deals the damage, one gets the fallen back up.

In developmentWorld bosses and group content built around those roles.

FAQ

Short answers

All questions
01What is COLONIZED?

COLONIZED is a space survival MMORPG for PC, built in Unreal Engine 5: one persistent online universe, planets with atmosphere and ships you can walk through. You survive, craft, build bases and fight in first or third person. Its first closed alpha wave is planned for winter 2026-2027.

02When does the closed alpha start?

The first closed alpha wave is planned for winter 2026-2027. Applications are open now at colonized.work/alpha, and keys go out in waves to selected pilots.

03Is COLONIZED a shooter or a survival game?

Both. It is a survival MMO with first- and third-person combat: thirteen weapons, shots resolved on the server with lag compensation, alien fauna and armed human enemies. Around it sit survival needs, crafting, base building and reputation with five guilds.

04What is confirmed and what is still in development?

Survival, crafting, base building, first- and third-person combat, the choice between the Zenith and the Nadir, reputation with the five guilds, the Compis with their talent trees and fifteen worlds with weather of their own run in the engine. World bosses, a capital ship and ship multi-crew are in development. The player economy, faction warfare, PvP and sieges are still being designed.

05Where is COLONIZED set?

In the Aurin system of the Parhelion galaxy, in Year 47 E.A. Two factions born from the same colony fleet, the Zenith and the Nadir, keep a cold peace that is starting to crack. The full story is in the Codex.

06Who makes COLONIZED?

COLONIZED is made by one person, Vanguille, who has worked on it for more than ten years. He has built the game, its servers, the portal, the community and the automation on his own, and the architecture is designed so that one person can maintain an MMO without large costs. The pace can be checked on the public roadmap.

07Is COLONIZED made with AI?

COLONIZED is not a game made with AI: one person makes it, Vanguille, with AI as a tool. In the game it has been used in very specific places and very little (some sounds and some art or icons); where it is used most is in automating the information around the project: roadmap, social networks and content generation.
