Estación Cenit-1 · Delvar, L4 point of Ithera’s orbit
El Pináculo
Em poucas palavras
El Pináculo is the space station of the Zenith, one of the two factions of the Aurin system. It is anchored at Delvar, a rock that travels ahead of the planet Ithera along the same orbit. It is the Zenith’s first city: their recruits arrive here, and each person’s rank decides how far in they may go.

Nothing hides in El Pináculo.
What is it and where is it?
El Pináculo, or Estación Cenit-1, is the space station of the Zenith, one of the system’s two factions, and their first city.
It is anchored at Delvar, a rock that shares the orbit of Ithera, the neutral planet. Delvar sits at the L4 point. L4 and L5 are two stable points on Ithera’s orbit. One lies sixty degrees ahead of the planet, the other sixty degrees behind.
The Cláusula de Equidistancia of the Armisticio de Ithera, the pact that stopped the war, put it there. The rival station, El Fondeadero, holds L5, at Trasvar. Neither station ever sees an eclipse.
It runs ahead in the direction of the orbit, and the Zenith read that as we are heading towards the dawn.
Who is in charge here?
A delegation of the Cátedra de Ascensión, the Zenith high command, governs it.
- Chancellor Vantis rules. He is Chief Architect and controls the local allocation of the MMU, the manufacturing technology both sides inherited. He is an Ascendido: a Zenith who accepted cybernetic or genetic enhancement in exchange for rank. His implants show in his hands and eyes. He never raises his voice. To him, measured cruelty is the most honest form of compassion.
- Commander Ysolde Kray heads the garrison. She is disciplined to the bone. But a crack of doubt shows when she signs aggressive quotas for Kaldrek, the cold planet where the factions clash.
- Registrar Petra Sorn talks in percentages even in casual chat. She is more indifferent than cruel.
How is it laid out?
Each zone demands more faction rank than the one before:
| Zone | What is there |
|---|---|
| Anillo de Amarre | The way in: numbered docking arms. |
| Anillo de Cuarentena y Aduana | Access control, cargo scanners and identity registry. |
| Anillo Cívico, “the Concurso” | Housing for rank-and-file settlers, cantina, mission board and recruitment. |
| Anillo de la Forja de Arquitectos | The MMU workshops and their blueprint lines. |
| Anillo de la Guardia Vertical | Barracks, armoury, simulators and cells of the Guardia Vertical, the Zenith army. |
| La Cúspide | The Torre Cenital of the Cátedra. Highest ranks only. |
The light is cold cyan, with no hard shadows. The drones leave no wear in sight. The public address reads out production figures in real time: “Kaldrek quota at 94%…”. In the civilian corridors, speaking loudly is a breach of discipline. The air smells of ozone and freshly welded metal.
How does it welcome recruits?
New recruits arrive here when they leave the Arca Custodia, the neutral ship where every new settler is registered.
At the Oficina de Enlistamiento, Lieutenant Dresk Corvain recites the oath to them. He says it like a man who has said it a hundred times that week. Yet the last line still moves him.
What services does it offer?
- The mission board. A holographic screen, sorted by an algorithm according to “return value”. Faction missions carry the seal of a numbered Axiom (a decree of the Cátedra). Some jobs never go near it. Commander Kray opens one like this: “What I’m about to ask of you isn’t on any board.”
- The Gran Subasta. The marketplace: a circular hall with escrow and a ticker of the five most expensive lots. The Registrar on duty withholds the faction tax on every sale.
- The Grada de Ascenso. Repairs ships by drone. Dearer, but faster.
- The Custodia (not the Arca). Biometric vaults that open only for their owner’s body.
- The Catapulta de Salto. The travel service: it launches with an electromagnetic shot, at a fixed fare.
- “La Ecuánime”. The cantina. At its bar people keep saying that “the cold peace is not peace, it is frozen inventory”. The cold peace is the tense truce that began with the Armisticio.
- The Consola de Ascensión. Where the Ascendidos receive their implants, with ceremony.
Can it be conquered?
No. At its core runs the Palio, a field generator inherited from the shielding of the arks of the Flota Aura, the settlers’ fleet. It absorbs structural damage, and the station recalibrates every night.
In forty-six years nobody has replicated it or fully disabled it. So the war is fought over everything else, such as the strategic points.
And under the Armisticio, no faction point may refuse emergency docking to a civilian ship, its own or a rival’s.
