Dossier

The Revenant no longer needs to be the most modern ship to still have a purpose.

A pre-war military hull on its second life: a 358 UU double-height hold, sixteen jump seats, door guns and remote turrets above and below.

Dossier

The RVN-1000T Revenant was conceived for the military security of the Flota Aura, which needed one ship to carry personnel and supplies and, at the same time, provide fire support during deployments. That combination of cargo capacity, habitability and armament made it a pioneer of its class.

Newer platforms gradually replaced it in military service, and after the war of Year 1 the hulls that survived passed into the hands of civilian operators and private owners. Far from disappearing, the ship found a second life: its robust, adaptable design appeals to anyone who needs to move cargo, keep a crew aboard on long voyages and defend themselves without relying entirely on an escort.

It is a long cargo wedge with two engine nacelles carried aft on pylons. The lower deck is almost entirely hold: double height, from the cargo floor to the roof of the hull, laid out on the UU grid for cargo, people and vehicles — 358 UU, with sixteen jump seats along its walls. Two large side doors, each closed by a double plug leaf that slides into pockets inside the hull, open a clear way 5.34 m wide and 3.00 m high. At the stern, a sculpted clamshell ramp with a two-piece visor lowers for vehicles and heavy loads.

Forward, a mezzanine overlooks the hold from a railed balcony reached by a sturdy stair: capsule bunks, a washroom with toilet and shower, a galley and a mess. Everything is built into a continuous service lining — no loose furniture, no hard corners. On the bridge, four rail-mounted seats for pilot, co-pilot, navigator and gunner face a curved panoramic dashboard that mixes analogue controls and screens.

A second life

MVG Aerospace was a lineage of shipyards from Solmera whose designs entered the MMU (Matriz de Manufactura Unificada) during the Éxodo. The house no longer exists; its hulls do. Every Revenant flying today is a military hull from before the war of Year 1, and since MVG became extinct no house homologates them: each unit flies with its own maintenance record. That record is the first thing worth reading, and the root of the ship's ambiguous reputation.

Over the years, stories have circulated about Revenants modified by mercenaries and by pirates of the Cementerio de Aura. Its cargo space, its adaptable systems and its defensive armament have made certain units prized in markets far from official channels. For some, the Revenant is a reliable veteran with plenty left to give; for others, its ease of modification raises questions about where the ships sold on the civilian market end up. Its original purpose, though, remains clear: tactical transport with fire support.

MVG was known for its modularity: customers ordered specific configurations from the factory, and many modifications were made later. No two Revenants are quite the same — one reason a model that is no longer cutting-edge still interests those who value flexibility over the latest technology.

Built for a higher tomorrow, said the house motto. Tomorrow came, and it was this.

Strengths

  • The biggest hold in the hangar: 358 UU, double height, with room for vehicles.
  • Three ways in: two wide sliding side doors (5.34 × 3.00 m clear) and a rear ramp with a 5.5 × 4.5 m clear way.
  • Guns at every angle: two S5 pilot guns, upper and lower remote turrets with two S4 each, and an S1 door gun at each side door.
  • Crew for the long haul: four bridge seats, sixteen jump seats and a mezzanine with bunks, galley, mess and washroom.
  • Sits low: short, very robust landing gear — the ship rests just 1.05 m off the ground for fast loading.
  • MVG modularity: units configured at the factory and modified since; missile module available as an option.

Role in the fleet

The Revenant is a colony's landing ship: the big hull a colony brings in when Tortugas are no longer enough, with people, vehicles and cargo in a single double-height hold, set down where they are needed. It does not compete with the Aura-class corvette — it was never designed as an air-superiority gunship — but it would be the landing ship flying beside one.

Size reference

The Revenant is the largest ship in the hangar: 54.48 m overall (51.6 m of hull), more than twice the XASTER XL (23.01 m) and over seven times the XASTER X (7.14 m). Its hold alone carries more than five times the 64 UU of the Challenger ALPHA M.
